Being a good corporate citizen is a priority and we constantly strive to strengthen the communities in which we live and work.

Through educational and technological initiatives, we have worked to bolster student success and community involvement.

Diversified Chemical Technologies, Inc., and its subsidiaries are heavily involved in the Detroit community on several projects, especially those that involve children.

The Math Corps

Diversified Chemical Technologies, Inc. is a corporate sponsor for and is actively involved with the Wayne State University Math Corps Program. Math Corps is a tuition-free academic enrichment and mentoring program that brings middle and high school students together, with college students and mathematicians to share in the teaching and learning of mathematics in a university setting. It is based on the idea of creating a self-perpetuating “corps,” where students matriculate through the program and return as mentors and tutors, passing their knowledge and values on to younger students, who in turn do the same.

Internships

We have both high school and college students interning at our subsidiaries. Some work in the laboratories with our chemists, while others work on business projects with our management team. Recently, our interns worked on research funded by the United Soybean Board to develop soy-based alternatives.

New Paradigm Glazer Academy

As part of our commitment to Create a Difference with Pride, we are proud to announce our partnership with Glazer Academy within our Detroit Community. Our team will be volunteering in in various activities supporting the student needs in education, life skills, and quality of life.

As part of our commitment to Create a Difference with Pride, we are proud to announce our partnership with Glazer Academy located in our neighborhood. The DCT family is geared to volunteer for 500 hours a year. Our team will be volunteering in the activities identified below supporting various needs in education, life skills, and quality of life.

New Paradigm Glazer Academy [Glazer] is a K-8 school located less than 1 mile [2001 La Belle St, Detroit] from our facilities. It is a charter school and is part of New Paradigm For Education [NPFE], a nonprofit Charter Management Organization with six schools in Detroit. Glazer’s student population consists of 99% African American students and over 90% of students qualify to receive free and reduced lunch. DCTI’s Community Care Activities take place during regular business house [9 am to 4 pm] with some weekend hours. All volunteers are given time off during the week to help the students of Glazer.
